We initially spent four nights on Gili Trawangan, but after a week in Lombok, we decided to return to the Gili islands and spend a further two weeks there instead of a longer time in Java.
If you could only choose one place each to sleep, eat and drink on Gili T, these would be our picks.
Sleep: Bamboo Hideaway
We stayed in five different places on Gili T, our favourite being this cute bamboo hut where we stayed for five nights after our treacherous Rinjani trek. Super peaceful and relaxing place to stay. Massive bathroom with outdoor shower, cute room with four poster bed and mosquito net and a desk for working. Outside area with chairs and table.
Eat: Warung Longi
We came day after day for 35k vegetarian burgers. They also do great fresh fruit juices and milkshakes.
Drink: Enjoy Bar
Near the northern end of the west side of the island. You just need to go and sit at the bar and see for yourself. We came here almost every day.
