It’s been almost two weeks in Sydney after six months in South East Asia and already I am missing Vietnam.
Around the four month mark, IĀ felt pretty done with Vietnam, but after staying in Hoi An for two months, I was sad to leave.

Our dear Tuk Tuk, a bike from the Dak Lak province has been sold! His new Dutch owner will be driving him up north again, with some Tuk Tuk companions. Here is a photo tribute to the four months we spent with him.
“How come you can speak Vietnamese so well?”
“You’re Vietnamese?”
“Do you have Vietnamese grandparents?”
I still find it amusing when people are surprised when I tell them that I’m Vietnamese / Viet Kieu.
It is with great sadness that I must announce we are selling our dearly beloved Tuk Tuk.
We traveled over 2000km with him, from Hanoi to Mai Chau, Ninh Binh, up to the extreme north of Vietnam, bordering China and then down from Hue to Hoi An, onwards to Dalat.
Day 1: Hoi An to Plei Can – 225km
Left at 7.30am, arrived at 5.30pm. Stopped a few times for food and because of the rain. Took the Ho Chi Minh Road, lots of roadwork.
