Excuse the title of this post, I’ve been watching too much of HBO’s Silicon Valley. Though I think ‘crushing it’ is quite fitting. During our time in Hoi An, we got to know three inspiring Vietnamese who are breaking cultural norms by not doing the typical marriage and kids by 25. Not only are they pursuing their passion, they’re successful at it. If you’re ever in Hoi An, I hope you have the chance to meet these lovely three individuals.
Jyoti, 26
Jyoti was born in Hue and grew up in Bảo Lộc. She has been living and teaching yoga in Hoi An for almost two years and has completed teacher training in Da Lat and California. She teaches 90 minute Sivananda yoga classes three times a day, six days a week.

Trang, 28
Trang from Nha Trang loves Greek food. After learning how to cook in her hometown, she now runs her own Greek souvlaki stand at An Bang Beach, which is open every day.
Harry, 26
Harry from Ho Chi Minh City has been working since 18. He started out in a Japanese restaurant where he learnt English by listening to his boss speak to customers. A few years ago, Harry moved to Danang and opened his first Japanese restaurant. Now he has opened a second one in Hoi An, and rides down every day to make sure everything is running smoothly.
